Swain’s Job Creation Plan–Hello Democrats!
A few days ago, 400 foreign students walked off their $8.25 Hersey factory jobs in protest of working conditions. Clearly, we have an unacceptable situation. Mr. President, the Swain plan would create jobs and end the legal exploitation of foreign workers. Here are its key components: (1) end the H2B & J-1 Visa Programs; (2) Ostracize employers who refuse to hire American workers; (3) Send out Social Security no-match letters; (4) Make E-Verify mandatory; Lastly, (5) Turn the jobs issue over to the GOP.

Prof. Swain:
Your plan is much better than the plan that some of my more extreme Libertarian friends propose. They seem to think that the way to create jobs in America is: (1) open the border to cheap labor from the Third World; (2) grant amnesty to what they call “undocumented workers”; (3) import computer specialists from S.E. Asia who will work for $10/hour; and (4) outsource American jobs to the Third World.
While their plan will destroy the middle class while enriching big business owners, your plan would help middle Americans.
I absolutely agree with you Dr. Swain. Illegal immigrants are taking jobs away from Americans who pay taxes and actually support America. Anyone who claims that letting them stay in a humanitarian triumph is sadly out of touch with reality. They live in terrible conditions with terrible pay. Calling them “migrant workers” or “undocumented inhabitants” for political correctness does not help the situation either.
LOVE it Dr. Swain!!! Say it!!
I am dismayed at the above comments, it appears to me these people have no qualms about disseminating fractured and half truths. Lets be clear about one thing, immigrants for the most part do not take American jobs, other than those who obtain false documentation, they have no access to good high paying jobs, they take the jobs Americans don’t want. The jobs they take are encouraged and facilitated by greedy unscrupulous people who are breaking the law, why even politicians and lawmen look away as migrant field workers have their children work right side along them all day long when they should be in school.
However, don’t let me persuade you, just look at what’s happening in Alabama.
To Ken I will say this; many of these jobs employers deduct taxes and social security of which they will never have any access to again, talk about exploitation! Tell me Ken, do you have first hand experience of whence you talk about? My suspicion is, you’re typical of most uninformed people whose judgements are clouded by hatred.
For your information Ken I can tell you first hand we have many Canadiens working here in America who do hold high paying jobs, as an American I at times have had to wait behind these illegal workers before I can go to work. Why are you not screaming at the top of your lungs if you are so incensed about illegals taking American jobs or is there an ulterior motive at work here.
R. Mendez
Unemployment rates among American workers have dropped substantially since you posted your comment. I think we should be willing to pay higher prices for goods and services delivered by people eligible to work in the country.
